Gaura Purnima Day

Gaura Pūrṇimā is the most sacred and celebrated day in Śrī Māyāpur Dhām, the divine appearance day of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, the Golden Avatar who came to give the freely available gift of harināma-saṅkīrtana.
On this auspicious day, Māyāpur becomes completely transformed — thousands upon thousands of devotees, pilgrims, and visitors flow into the holy dhām from early morning till deep into the night, all longing for darśan, kīrtan, and the mercy of Mahāprabhu.
“In this Age of Kali, the only religion is chanting the holy names of the Lord.”
— Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu
The preparations for this divine day begin weeks in advance — the Adhivās ceremony, continuous kīrtana, special day and night deity outfits, prasādam arrangements, mahā-abhisheka, anukalpa feasts, festival pandals, temple decorations, flower abhisheka, the next day’s Jagannātha Miśra celebration, and various cultural offerings, all come together to create a once-a-year outpouring of devotion.
Supporting seva on Gaura Pūrṇimā Day allows you to offer your service directly to Mahāprabhu on His auspicious appearance day — a rare and spiritually potent opportunity
