The form of Lord Narasimha is both fearsome and compassionate. He roars loudly, destroying demoniac forces and removing obstacles, yet at the same time He lovingly protects His devotees and sustains the entire creation with His unlimited strength. His appearance reminds us that no force in this world is greater than the protection of the Lord.

By meditating upon the powerful form of Lord Narasimha, devotees pray for peace, happiness, and prosperity. It is said that remembrance of Him removes fear, destroys sinful reactions, and protects one from negative influences, diseases, and unfavorable conditions. Devotees pray for His merciful sidelong glance, knowing that His protection extends not only to the body but also to the heart and soul.

In the teachings of Bhagavad-gita, Lord Krishna explains the vision of a great devotee like Prahlada Maharaja:

"For one who sees Me everywhere and sees everything in Me, I am never lost to him, nor is he ever lost to Me."
