Shantipur Festival 2025!

After accepting sannyasa, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, overwhelmed with Krishna-prema, set out towards Vrindavan. However, by the arrangement of Nityananda Prabhu, He was instead guided to Shantipur, where He stayed at the home of Advaita Acharya.

News of His arrival spread quickly, and devotees from Navadvipa and surrounding areas rushed to see Him. Saci Mata, His beloved mother, also came. Seeing her son with a shaved head and the robes of a renunciant, she was heartbroken but knew that this was His divine calling. The meeting between mother and son was filled with deep emotion. Mahaprabhu offered His respects and assured her that though He had taken sannyasa, He was still her son.

At the request of Saci Mata, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu agreed to make Jagannath Puri His residence. She reasoned that Puri was close enough that she could receive news of Him through the traveling devotees. Out of love and devotion for His mother, He accepted her wish.

During His stay in Shantipur, Mahaprabhu revealed His divine form as Krishna to Advaita Acharya and the devotees. Overwhelmed with ecstasy, they bathed in the Ganges together, singing and dancing in kirtan. The entire village was immersed in the waves of devotion. Even those who had never chanted before were swept up in the divine energy of Mahaprabhu’s presence.

It is also in Shantipur that the disappearance day of Madhavendra Puri, the spiritual master of Advaita Acharya and Isvara Puri, is observed with great reverence. Mahaprabhu glorified Madhavendra Puri as the root of Krishna-prema in the Gaudiya Sampradaya. It is said that anyone who honors prasadam on this auspicious day receives the special mercy of Govinda and can attain pure love for Krishna.

First Ever Vaishnavi Award!

Gaura Purnima Festival Update

The blissful and heartwarming Navadvipa Mandal Parikrama came to an end yesterday. But in Krishna consciousness, nothing truly ends. Every day is filled with festivals, kirtan, and opportunities for service, and as we continue the Gaura Purnima celebrations, the mercy only increases.

On March 9th, we had a special event in honor of International Women’s Day—the first-ever Savitri Awards, celebrating the Vaishnavis of Sridham Mayapur. It was a beautiful gathering, graced by the presence of many senior devotees and well-wishers, including HH Jayapataka Swami, HG Brajavilas Das, and HG Subheksana Das. Our guest speakers, HG Atitaguna Mataji, Yasomati Mataji, and HG Rucitambar Mataji, shared their wisdom and encouragement, making the occasion even more special.

After an uplifting session of kirtan and katha, the awards were presented by HH Jayapataka Swami. Among the recipients was HG Nayatri Mataji, who has been dedicated to mala seva for the deities and has served tirelessly in the guesthouse kitchen for over sixteen years. HG Rasesvari Mataji, who arrived in Mayapur in 1991, has been managing the accounts for TOVP, overseeing the administration of the Sri Mayapur International School, cooking for HH Jayapataka Maharaj, and teaching at the Mayapur Institute. So many wonderful Vaishnavis were honored for their years of unwavering service, and it was truly inspiring to witness.

And now, as one festival comes to a close, another beautiful one is about to begin. Tomorrow is the Shantipur festival, one of the most cherished celebrations of Gaura Purnima. Devotees will travel to the sacred home of Madhavendra Puri, where prasadam distribution takes place on a grand scale. Huge pots of steaming khichuri, fresh sabjis, sweets, and butter will be lovingly prepared and served to everyone, just as it was done centuries ago. No one leaves hungry, and for a moment, it feels as if the whole world is being nourished by Krishna’s mercy. Devotees sing, dance, and listen to Hari-katha, completely absorbed in the joy of service.

There’s something truly special about this festival—the kindness, the generosity, the spirit of devotion. Whether attending in person or remembering it from afar, the heart naturally fills with gratitude. And for those who contribute to the prasadam distribution on this sacred day, the blessings they receive are immeasurable. By serving others, we serve Mahaprabhu directly, and the mercy that flows from this seva is beyond imagination.

Thousands of pilgrims and Dham vasis will be there, and the opportunity to take part in this service is open to all. It’s a rare chance to receive unlimited blessings through the simple yet profound act of feeding others. If your heart feels inspired, don’t miss this chance to be part of something so meaningful.

75th Vyasa Puja: HH Bhakti Tirtha Swami!

7th March was a memory to behold!

It has been many years since the Vyasa Puja of His Holiness Bhakti Tirtha Swami Maharaj in Mayapur, yet each time it arrives, it feels just as fresh, powerful, and deeply moving. Falling within the sacred festival season of Gaura Purnima, Maharaj’s Vyasa Puja always carries an extra touch of auspiciousness, making it an occasion of boundless mercy and inspiration.

One of the most distinct and beautiful aspects of each Vyasa Puja is how every year carries its own special theme—almost as if orchestrated by Maharaj himself. This year was no exception. Again and again, the sweet pastimes shared reminded us of Maharaj’s extraordinary magnetism—how he drew people toward Krishna with an irresistible force of love, wisdom, and transcendental energy. It is undeniable that his presence continues to expand, touching more and more souls, even in his spiritual absence. He once said he would be even more present after his departure, and every year, his words prove true.

From the kirtan at the Vaishnava Samadhi to the courtyard of Sri Sri Radha Madhava, and then back to the venue near the Samadhi, every moment carried Maharaj’s signature energy—alive, pulsating, and drenched in mercy. The sound vibrations of the Holy Name filled the air, reminding us of how he would leap high in the air, lost in pure devotion, dancing for the pleasure of the Lord.

The Vyasa Puja offerings were nothing short of heart-melting. Godbrothers, disciples, well-wishers, and devotees shared memories and realizations that brought tears to our eyes, warmth to our souls, and laughter to our hearts. It was a festival of love— a memory of the deep imprint Maharaj left on this world. Truly, he is a Black Lotus—rare, profound, and unforgettable. Though we wish he were physically present, we know he was called to serve elsewhere by the divine will of Krishna.

We were blessed to hear from esteemed speakers, including His Holiness Kavicandra Swami, His Holiness Jayapataka Swami, His Holiness Bhakti Dhira Swami, His Holiness Bhakti Vasudev Swami, His Holiness Narasimha Swami, His Holiness Charudeshna Swami, His Grace Atul Krishna Prabhu, His Grace Hari Sauri Prabhu, His Holiness Srivas Maharaj, His Grace Sikhi Mahiti Prabhu, Her Grace Saci Mataji, Her Grace Sridevi Mataji, and many others who shared their heartfelt offerings.

The celebration concluded with puspanjali and arati, followed by an electrifying kirtan led by His Holiness Bhakti Dhira Damodar Swami, and finally, a wonderful feast of prasadam!

Indeed, it was a day overflowing with nectar, blessings, and the sweet remembrance of our beloved Maharaj.

The Divine Journey Begins

Sri Navadvipa Mandal Parikrama!

On the 27th of February, we also celebrated the auspicious appearance of a great Vaishnava devotee of the Lord—Shiva Ratri. Lord Shiva, the greatest Vaishnava, is always immersed in the glorification of Lord Krishna, chanting His holy names and showering mercy upon those who seek devotion. His unparalleled devotion reminds us of the true essence of surrender—complete love and dedication to the Supreme Lord.

As if the blessings of Lord Shiva were paving the way, the grand Kirtan Mela that concluded yesterday, the 1st of March, was nothing short of divine ecstasy! It was not just about singing the names of the Lord, but about feeling each sacred vibration resonate deep within our hearts. To be in the presence of such exalted Vaishnavas, Gurus, and Sannyasis, whose ecstatic chanting brought the Holy Name to life, was a gift beyond words. Every Kirtaniya poured their heart into the singing, making the experience even more special. It was a celebration of love, devotion, and unity, a melody that will forever echo in our hearts. Oh, how these sacred days will be missed!

And now, the transcendental wave continues! Sri Navadvipa Mandal Parikrama has officially begun with its Adhivasa celebration yesterday, welcoming thousands of devotees, pilgrims, and guests from all corners of the world to the holy land of Sri Dham Mayapur.
