First Ever Vaishnavi Award!

Gaura Purnima Festival Update

First Ever Vaishnavi Award!

The blissful and heartwarming Navadvipa Mandal Parikrama came to an end yesterday. But in Krishna consciousness, nothing truly ends. Every day is filled with festivals, kirtan, and opportunities for service, and as we continue the Gaura Purnima celebrations, the mercy only increases.

On March 9th, we had a special event in honor of International Women’s Day—the first-ever Savitri Awards, celebrating the Vaishnavis of Sridham Mayapur. It was a beautiful gathering, graced by the presence of many senior devotees and well-wishers, including HH Jayapataka Swami, HG Brajavilas Das, and HG Subheksana Das. Our guest speakers, HG Atitaguna Mataji, Yasomati Mataji, and HG Rucitambar Mataji, shared their wisdom and encouragement, making the occasion even more special.

After an uplifting session of kirtan and katha, the awards were presented by HH Jayapataka Swami. Among the recipients was HG Nayatri Mataji, who has been dedicated to mala seva for the deities and has served tirelessly in the guesthouse kitchen for over sixteen years. HG Rasesvari Mataji, who arrived in Mayapur in 1991, has been managing the accounts for TOVP, overseeing the administration of the Sri Mayapur International School, cooking for HH Jayapataka Maharaj, and teaching at the Mayapur Institute. So many wonderful Vaishnavis were honored for their years of unwavering service, and it was truly inspiring to witness.

And now, as one festival comes to a close, another beautiful one is about to begin. Tomorrow is the Shantipur festival, one of the most cherished celebrations of Gaura Purnima. Devotees will travel to the sacred home of Madhavendra Puri, where prasadam distribution takes place on a grand scale. Huge pots of steaming khichuri, fresh sabjis, sweets, and butter will be lovingly prepared and served to everyone, just as it was done centuries ago. No one leaves hungry, and for a moment, it feels as if the whole world is being nourished by Krishna’s mercy. Devotees sing, dance, and listen to Hari-katha, completely absorbed in the joy of service.

There’s something truly special about this festival—the kindness, the generosity, the spirit of devotion. Whether attending in person or remembering it from afar, the heart naturally fills with gratitude. And for those who contribute to the prasadam distribution on this sacred day, the blessings they receive are immeasurable. By serving others, we serve Mahaprabhu directly, and the mercy that flows from this seva is beyond imagination.

Thousands of pilgrims and Dham vasis will be there, and the opportunity to take part in this service is open to all. It’s a rare chance to receive unlimited blessings through the simple yet profound act of feeding others. If your heart feels inspired, don’t miss this chance to be part of something so meaningful.
