Happy Diwali

D iwali greetings from Sri Mayapur dhama! Diwali is a day loaded with pastimes of the Supreme Lord to remember, celebrate and worship to make the day more fruitful. Diwali marks the return of Lord Ramachandra with mother Sita to Ayodhya. Citizens of Ayodhya decorate the city with lamps everywhere to welcome their Lord. To celebrate Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya, let us also light our homes & hearts with lamps to welcome the Lord and coronate Him as the king of our heart. This is the day the famous Damodar Lila took place. Seeing Yasoda’s love, devotion and hard labor, the Lord agreed to bind Himself while liberating Nalakuvera and Manigriva. On this day, in Vraja, Manasi Ganga appeared. Krishna killed Narakasura or baumasura and delivered 16,100 princess from Narakasura’s palace and married each one of them. The day when Lord Vamana begged three steps of land from Bali Maharaja and made Bali’s life glorious.

In Caitanya Caritamrta, it is mentioned that Lord Chaitanya observed festivals like Ratha Yatra, Dipavali and Rasa purnima!
