TOVP Seva Office Inauguration
1st February, 2015: Inauguration of Temple of Vedic Planetorium (TOVP) seva office took place in Mayapur on the auspicious Nityananda Trayodasi day. The office shall be used for managing fund raising for the TOVP project. HG Radha Jivan Prabhu mentioned that this day has been chosen to inaugurate as Lord Nityananda prophesized an ‘adbhuta-mandira’ that would spread service to Lord Gauranga throughout the world (gauranga nitya-seva haibe vikasa). In fulfillment of that prophecy, TOVP was envisioned by Srila Prabhupada and He desired that people of the whole world should be attracted to Mayapur. The huge TOVP complex is intended to fulfill above desire of Srila Prabhupada.
Right after Guru puja, deity of Srila Prabhupada was taken in an elephant procession to the TOVP seva office. Devotees danced and performed kirtana on the way. Many sanyasis and GBC members were present on the occasion. Arati of Srila Prabhupada was performed and a large cake with TOVP image was offered to Srila Prabhupada. Next, HG Radha Jivan Prabhu spoke on the importance of the project that this Temple shall be used for rejuvenation of devotees. They would broadcast Holy Names and Krsna consciousness to the entire world. HG Ambarisa Prabhu, chairman of the project said that he was instructed by Srila Prabhupada in Detroit to carry on this project. He has contributed $25 million personally and urged devotees all over the world to contribute to the project. It was noteworthy that in 2014 devotees contributed $ 8.5 million for TOVP and promised to contribute in future. HG Bhavananda Prabhu emphasized that we are doing this project for Srila Prabhupada. HG Radha Jivan Prabhu told reminded devotees of Srila Prabhupada’s sacrifice for the world 25 years back to travel in Jaladuta and requested devotees to sacrifice for TOVP. After that, HG Ambarisa Prabhu and HG Anuttama Prabhu did the ribbon cutting. Devotees did contributions and rung a large bell installed in the seva office. This signified an offering to Srila Prabhupada and Lord Krishna.
