Sri Radhashtami – Appearance Of Srimati Radhika

Sri Radhika is a princess and She has many maidservants led by Ragalekha-devi, Kalakeli-devi and Bhurida-devi.

Palindri-devi serves Srimati Radhika by dressing and decorating her. And Citrini-devi decorates Her with various cosmetics.

Mantriki-devi and Tantriki-devi are astrologers who reveal future influences and happenings to Sri Radha.

Also included among Her servants are many very respectable brahmanis headed by Gargi-devi.

Tungi-devi, Pisangi-devi, and Kalakandala-devi always remain near Srimati Radharani to personally serve Her. Manjula-devi, Bindula-devi and many other very young girls are almost always with Sri Radha attending to Her every need.

Srimati Radharani also has many servants led by Vijaya-devi, Rasala-devi and Payoda-devi who are expert in music, drama, literature, the science of various kinds of scents, and many other arts.

Subala, Ujjvala, Gandharva, Madhumangala and Raktaka also engage in Her service.

Sri Radhika is very fond of all the animals of Vraja – however insignicant they may seem. And those She especially showers Her affection upon are well-known as Her darling pets.

Sanuda, Yamuna and Bahula are the most loved of Her pet surabhi cows. And Tungi is Her chubby pet calf.

Kakkhati is Her old pet monkey, Rangini is Her pet doe, and Carucandrika is Her pet cakori bird.

Sri Radha’s pet swan is called Tundikeri and she is very fond of swimming in Radha-kunda. And Madhuri is Radharani’s pet elephant.

Sti Radha has two pet parrots who are well-known as Suksmadhi and Subha. These two parrots perfectly imitate Lalita-devi’s joking words spoken for the pleasure of her Prananaths – and this enchants the Divine Couple as well as all Their very dear sakhis.
