Sri Nimbark Acharya comes in the line of the Kumara Sampradaya and is believed to have lived around the 11th and 12th centuries. He was born to a very pious brahman couple of the Tailanga order. He lived most of his devotional life at a place called Nimbagrama near Govardhana at Vrindavana. He was a great ascetic of the Tridandi order. He received direct instruction from Lord Siva to go to the sacred bael forest in Nimbarka village, where the four kumaras are absorbed in meditation. He went to meet them there, to get enlightened by receiving transcendental knowledge and accepting them as his spiritual masters. They accepted him as their disciple and ordered him to follow the instructions that he had written in Sanat Kumar Samhita. They gave him the Radha-Krishna mantra instructed him in the method of worshiping Radha and Krishna with the sentiments of great love called Bhava Marga.
Once, Lord Chaitanya personally appeared in front of him and asked him to preach about devotional service and the pastimes of Radha Krishna, which gives him great satisfaction. Lord Chaitanya to him that during His educational pastimes in Navadwip, Keshav Kashmiri would take birth in Kashmir as a great pandit, he will tour all over India defeating all opposition, his reputation and learning will be celebrated everywhere. Whilst wandering in Sri Navadwip, he would visit Sridham Mayapur, and that by hearing him all scholars will flee. How by the mercy of Mother Saraswati he will recognize his real identity, giving up his false pride, he will take shelter of Lord Gauranga and in the process, Lord will award him the supreme gift of loving devotional service. Thus, he can satisfy Lord preaching the philosophy of Dvaita-advaita. Lord declared to him that in the future when Lord begins His sankirtan movement, then He will personally preach, taking the essence of his philosophy along with other three acharya’s philosophies, Madhva, Ramanuja, and Vishnuswami. After hearing Nimbark acharya started shedding tears and left Navadwip to continue his preaching mission.
