Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama: Day 6

O n the 6h day of Parikrama, we are wondering in the island of Rudradvipa where Nidaya Gat (border) is situated.

Early morning all the pilgrims left Pratapnagar by boat.. it is always a great time crossing the merciful waters of Mother Ganga with so many devotees, such an unique experience!

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu left His house (where the Yoga Pitha is situated) in the early morning heading to the Ganga. He crossed the river by swimming on His way to Katva to take sannyasa. When Saci mata understood that He was not in the house, she left looking for him, asking the villagers ” Did you see Nimai?” In their hearts, the eternal associates of the Lord in the form of villagers, just remained silent. By seeing their behaviour mother Saci said:” You are just merciless.”
That very village till nowadays is called “Nidaya” the land of the merciless.

1710 years old beautiful Madan Gopal worshipped by the grandfather of Sacimata, Nilambara Chakravarti is still here. It is one of the most beautiful darshans in this Parikrama. The temple is located in the neighbourhood of Belpukur. We stayed in a very beautiful ISKCON’s land.. where devotees have prasada under the mango trees. Such merciful place! Gauranga! All glories to Jayapataka Swami and ISKCON Mayapur managers, such a wonderful service they did for the next 10 thousand years pilgrimage in Navadvipa dhama. Their service is really glorious!

In the evening we had the association of HH Bhakti Caitanya Swami, a Parikrama expert who made movies and books about Navadvipa Dhama Parikrama.

“…when Lord Caitanya got initiation, the first thing He did was ask ‘Now, I’m initiated, what should I do..’ Lord Caitanya suggested ‘shot I be engaged in dry philosophical debates with dry philosophers and just get really dry?!..’ and Iswara Puri said ‘Don’t do that, just be in engaged in Harinama Sankirtan ‘Harer Nama, Harer Nama Harer Nama eva kevalam Kalau nasty eva, nasty eva nasty eva gather anyatha’ just chant the Holy Names of Krsna’..

Maharaj was actually telling the pastime when Lord Nityananda met Lord Caitanya in the house of Nandana Acharya in Mayapur..

“.. Lord Caitanya asked Lord Nityananda ‘where are you coming from’ and Nityananda replied ” I’m coming from Vrindavana, Radha kunda but you know what is happening there? All the deities had gone, They are not there so I asked the Pujaris ‘where all the deities had gone?’ and they replied ‘they all had gone to Navadvipa’. The devotees laughed and clapped after hearing this sweet dialog between these two great personalities.

We have only 1,5 day to go! Tomorrow we are heading to Rajapur, the land of the King (Lord Jagannath!).

Just to finalised I would like to repeat a statement from Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur about Nidaya, he said: “I want to die in Nidaya”, actually this place is so peaceful..

Please see the wonderful pics.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada, who revealed Sri Mayapur Dham to the whole world!
