D irectly beneath Govardhana, they saw Krishna standing in a threefold bending pose, left arm upraised, nonchalantly holding the Hill aloft. Krishna executed His plan and gently, as if picking up a baby calf, began to lift Govardhana Hill. The Vraja-vasis watched in awe as the Mountain rose into the air.
