Chandan yatra festivities have been going on at ISKCON Jagannath Temple in Rajapur since 21st April. Sandal wood paste is being applied daily to Their Lordships Jagannath Baladev and Subhadra devi to keep Them cool. Also, each day there have been new vesas for Lord reminding us of His different pastimes. In Nrsimhavesa, Lord Jagannatha amazingly resembled Nrsimhadeva. This has thus been a special attraction for devotees in Mayapur.
There was also a boat festival on 4th May evening. There was kirtan, offering of bhoga and garlands to utsav murtis of Jagannath Baladev and Subhadradevi while They had a boat ride in the Temple pond. Boat festival will also take place on 10th evening from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Chandan yatra ends on 11th May. So, if you happen to be in Mayapur during coming weekend, you still have opportunity to take part in Chandan yatra festivities at Jagannath Temple. You can also sponsor sevas. To do so, please visit:
