Mayapur Local Preaching (MLP) has decided to hold large scale Nagar Sankirtan programs in as many local areas as possible like Krishnanagar, Dharmada, Dhubulia and Nabadwip. Recently, on 28th April, MLP held one huge Nagar sankirtan at Dhubulia. Even Namhatta and School Preaching departments took part in this sankirtan program. The local people were informed in advance of this sankirtan by Bhakti Vriksha members at Dhubulia. The people of Dhubulia showed their sincerity by engaging in different services during this event.
It was a historical event as for the first time in Dhubulia more than 1000 people walked in a Harinaam procession holding flags and festoons. One hundred Mayapur sankirtan devotees headed by HG Venudhari prabhu were a special attraction during this program. These young, smiling faced saffron dressed Brahmacaris looked glamorous while they chanted and danced nonstop for two hours. More than sixty devotees from Mayapur went in a big bus and three private cars. Senior devotees like HG Nitai Padakamala prabhu, HG Amritesh Nitai prabhu and HG Madhav Hari prabhu also joined the sankirtan party.
HG Venudhari prabhu started the event with a brief message on Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. In next one and a half hours, devotees covered 4 km in procession doing Harinaam. The air was filled up with transcendental sound vibration and everyone rejoiced in Harinaam sankirtan. All along the way, devotees distributed dry Mahaprasadam, Srila Prabhupada’s books and MLP leaflets. Mayapur devotees had dinner prasadam at Gita bhavan. Overall the program was a grand success under the leadership of HG Mathuresh Pr, HG Padmapani prabhu and HG Yasoda Putra prabhu.
