F or the sake of preaching in local area, Mayapur Local Preaching (MLP) conducted a Bhagavad-Gita competition among the people of Krishnanagar, Dhubulia and Dharmada. They were asked to read Bhagavad Gita and then answer 100 questions. Those who secured more than 80% marks were invited for the final round examination in Mayapur.
The final round was organized on 21st June at Srila Prabhupada Puspa Samadhi Auditorium hall. The ceremony started at 11 am with mangalacaran, Harinam and Bhajan Kirtan. At 11:30 am, H.G. Bhakta Janapriya Prabhu gave an introductory lecture for 20 minutes. Then the examination started and continued for 30 minutes.
Next, there was a lecture on ‘the importance of Bhagavad-Gita in human society’ by H.G. Sankarsan Nitai Prabhu. The lecture lasted for one hour and included a question answer session. Later H.G. Sankarsan Nitai Prabhu distributed certificates and prizes to the participants. The top three were honored with special prizes namely Sri Radha Madhava Astasakhi lamination (1st position), Sri Pancatattva lamination (2nd position) and Sri Radha Madhava face lamination (3rd position). All others who participated in the written examination at Mayapur were also given certificates and a book titled ‘Yugacarya Srila Prabhupada’.
At 2 pm, there was lunch-feast Prasad at Sulav kitchen for the participants. They were very happy with this competition.
