Under the banner of Sri Mayapur Local Preaching, there was a huge Bhakti Vriksha Nagar Sankirtan Program on 14-05-2014 at Dhubulia town. Total 30 devotees from Mayapur including 7 foreign devotees participated. At one of our Bhakti Vriksha member Sri Sambhu Putatunda’s house, the local Bhakti Vriksha members received the devotees with throwing flowers on the head of the devotees, lamp and auspicious Vedic sound ‘uludhvani’ from the lips of the female members. Then they offered garland and chandan to each devotee, along with a green coconut to drink.
We started Nagar Sankirtan Parikrama at 5:30 pm for one and half hours, and then we came back to the stage. The program began with invocation and continued with Bhajan-kirtan by the Sri Mayapur devotees.
Then His Holiness Bhakti Purusottam Swami Maharaj delivered a short speech emphasizing on ‘why worshipping Lord Gauranga is so important in our lives’.
During the next phase of the program we had the most attractive event ISKCON Cinema ‘Hare Krishna World’. Before that we showed people his excellence Pranab Mukharjee, the president of India, glorify His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada and the ISKCON movement following the line of ‘Sri Gaudiya Vaisnava Sampradaya’.
In that Nagar Sankirtan program our western devotees distributed 84 of Srila Prabhupada’s books. The whole program was very exciting and was a grand success, everyone was happy. Mahaprasadam from Mayapur was then distributed to all participants.
