“If you like to please me, distribute books”- Srila Prabhupada. December being the special marathon, everyone in the community was geared up to distribute books for the pleasure of Srila Prabhupada. In the first week of December, a Narasimha pooja was offered and all the devotees took sankalpa or vow to reach the message of Sri Krishna to as much souls as possible and prayed to Narasimhdeva to remove the obstacles for successful preaching. An innovate way of preaching, for the first time, GITA MELA , a diorama exhitbition with various activities took place for a month. Every evening there were stage programs by international devotees, question and answer booth, interactive sessions, kids corner, dioramas to attract the increasing flow of pilgrims to Mayapur. Different matajis group had set up their small stalls around the campus and enthusiastically distributed books throughout the month. Mayapur School children were out in the campus, busy giving Krsna books and Bhagavad Gita.
In the recent Ganga Sagar Mela, Mayapur’s Book Distribution was a great success. The West Bengal government and local panchayat appreciated the arrangements made by ISKCON . The total Number of books distributed in the Ganga Sagar Mela was 12,484. There was Prasad distribution on a large scale and blankets were also distributed.
