D isappearance Celebration of His Grace Bhaktisuhrid Das Brahmacari in Sridham Mayapur on 13 oct 2013
The appearance of a Vaishnava is auspicious and even his disappearance is also auspicious. The Vaisnavas are happy on the disappearance of a Vaishnava knowing that the departed Vaishnava soul is going back to Godhead and is happily engaged in the eternal service of the Lord through the disciplic succession. But at the same time it is sad because we are losing his association. It is a mixed feelings. The presence of a Vaishnava purifies the planet since Vaikuntha atmosphere is created. Bhaktisuhrid das brahmachari was born in Assam. He joined ISKCON on 26.03.2004 and since then he was distributing Srila Prabhupada’s books for four years. Due to some physical illness he was staying in the Mayapur Dham and joined campus preaching department. He was preaching very effectively for four years for the time he was serving in that department. He had Vaishnava qualities and He was very humble and respectful to everyone. In spite of his sickens he was very enthusiastically performing his devotional service in the department without any grudge or complaint. He made his name Bhakti Suhrid successful by befriending devotees due to his devotional heart. He left his body in Bhaktivedanta hospital at 1.40 p.m. on 13 .10 2013.
Jananivas Prabhu during the glorification ceremony said that this place is located in between Antardvipa and Rudradvipa and that is mentioned in Navadvipa Dhama Mahatmya by Bhaktivinod Thakura that if someone leaves his body in such a place Lord Shiv chants the holy name Gauranga in the ear of the devotee who leaves the body.
Moreover it is mentioned in Navadvipa Dhama Mahatmya , “Dying in other tirthas gives either material enjoyment or liberation, but dying in Navadvipa gives pure devotion to the Lord. In Navadvipa there is no consideration of a faulty death-at an inauspicious time, in pain, in the house, or by accident. Death at other tirthas while practicing yoga or death in Kasi while absorbed in impersonal meditation become insignificant when compared to death in Navadvipa”.
Many devotees glorified his qualities from 1.00 pm to 2.30 pm and then everyone honoured prsadam feast.
Bhakti Suhrid Prabhu, age 45, is a sincere devotee who received first initiation from Srila Gurudeva in 2006, and second in 2011. He was born and raised in Assam, and was serving in the Campus Preaching Department at ISKCON Mayapur.
His Grace Bhakti Suhrid Prabhu left his body at 13:40 today at Sridham Mayapur. In the same room, two devotees were singing loud Hare Krishna kirtan, and another devotee was reading out Chaitanya Charitamrita. HG Partha Pratim Prabhu, who was also present, informed Gurudeva. Gurudeva, although concerned, was comforted to hear that his disciple Bhakti Suhrid Prabhu left his body in this manner in the holy land.

On 6th October: after Sandhya Arati, Bhakti Suhrid Prabhu returned to the Brahmacharya Ashram and proceeded to the roof to do some exercises. He had high blood pressure. All of a sudden he started feeling a great deal of uneasiness. He asked another Brahmacharya to get his medicine. Goverdhan Prabhu was also chanting there. They brought him down and within 15 min his right side paralysed. Goverdhan Prabhu called the vehicle to take him to Krishnanagar City nearby. On the way he started coughing blood. After seeing his very critical condition the doctor from Krishnanagar referred him to Kolkata. Immediately he was taken to Kolkata and admitted in Disan Nursing Home, ICU Care. The doctors did CT Scan and diagnosed a severe Brain Haemorrhage and said it is a very critical condition.
On 7th October: many devotees prayed for him today. From Brahmachari Council HG Venudhari Prabhu announced after Bhagavatam Class there will be special Puja to Lord Nrishimha Dev, Chanting and praying to their Lordship Radha Madhava Asta Sakhi, Panchatattva and Nrishimha Dev. The sister and brother-in-law of Bhakti Suhrid Prabhu came to visit from his native place, in District Diphu, Assam, and they were very much struck with grief. They expressed their gratitude to the devotees for their support.
On 8th October: he was still in very bad condition. No improvement. Very less chance for the survival. Operating on that part of the brain will have an almost zero chance of success. Amongst the board of Doctors, some said to keep him for a few days on the ventilator and see what happens.
On 9th October: one last CT Scan was done. No improvement. The family requested the devotees to proceed with the most suitable final arrangements, as per our culture.
On 11th October: he is being transported to the new Bhaktivedanta Hospital Centre, Mayapur, where he will leave his body peacefully in the holy land of Sridham Mayapur. Partha Pratim Prabhu, our Godbrother and Spiritual Counsellor of the Hospital, is with him continuously and is communicating with Srila Gurudeva, who is conveying his auspicious blessings on Bhakti Suhrid Prabhu.

First of all, I want to thank the devotees who have helped nicely Bhaktisuhrid in his spiritual advancement. As a spiritual master of Bhaktisuhrid I am thankful and grateful for making his spiritual path easy, by helping when he was sick, when he was on the verge leaving his body you have brought him from Kolkata hospital to Mayapur and also when he was leaving the body you did kirtan and reading the scriptures. The glories of Srila Prabhupada’s wonderful ISKCON family is spreading in this way. We are ever grateful to Srila Prabhupada for creating a spiritual development program. Our human life will be successful if we can leave the body in this way remaining within the ISKCON Society.
The success of this memorial day for Bhaktisuhrid be fruitful by wishing well for Bhaktisuhrid’s auspiciousness in spiritual life.
