Welcome to Sri Dham Mayapur - the city of eternal festivals!
“Concerning the festivals, it is very good idea to have festivals on the major celebrations, at least 4-5 each year”-
Srila Prabhupada6/6/76, Los Angeles- Jayapataka Maharaja.
As per the desire of Srila Prabhupada, a spiritual city is manifesting gradually in Sri Mayapur. In the spiritual world, festivals are taking place eternally and dhams are our gateway to experience a glimpse of the blissful pastimes that are taking place in the spiritual world. Sri Mayapur dhama is Audarya dhama, most magnanimous and full of festivals. And now, to give a special joy to devotees, a special Summer festival is manifesting in Mayapur this year.
As most of the festivals takes place in winter, many worldwide devotees have not experienced the charm of Mayapur in summer. Thinking that it would be too hot in Mayapur during summer, devotees miss the beautiful Summer festivals, which gives so much pleasure to the Lord. If there would be no summer season then how the lord would enjoy His chandana yatra , boat festival?

Starting from 2010, Mayapur festival committee is planning to set up Special "Sri Mayapur Summer Festival - Festival of Bliss" every year during the beginning of summer season from Akshaya tritiya up to Narasimha chaturdasi for twelve days. In between there are also other special tithis like Janhu saptami( The day janhu muni swallowed Ganga water) etc. This is the beginning of summer and is the best time for the festivals.
Festival will begin on the most auspicious Akshayatritiya day ( The tithi on which Satya yuga started). It is believed that any thing you start on this day is very auspicious. This festival will end with grand celebration of Sri Narasimha Chaturdasi, the appearance day of Lord Narasimha deva. Devotees can come to Mayapur for whole period of festival or attend a part of the festival.
Summer festival also facilitates the devotees who would like to experience the Mayapur festival. As many devotees could not get accommodation for Gaura Purnima festival have now a better chance to participate in Mayapur festival. Another advantage is that since this falls during the school annual vacation, families can benefit from this Summer Festival.
Please write to us at the earliest to book your accommodation for the festival.
