We are in the midst of great Nityananda Trayodasi celebration in Mayapur.This auspicious program started yesterday with Adhivas, invoking auspiciousness. Mangala arthi was packed with devotees waiting to have darshan of Nitai and Nitai was also just ready to shower the world of devotees with His mercy and ecstasy. The surprises awaited us right from the morning darshan.Deity greetings starts of everyday at 7am, with Sri Nrsimhadeva, and this was quite a spectacle today as Lord Nrsimhadeva was really Gaura Nrsimhadeva, wearing His Golden colored outfit.

Then we had to wait 15 min longer for the Pancha-tattva darshan, and the kirtan during this wait so melodious, was tear jerking and ecstatic. Finally at around 7.30 hrs, Sri Pancha-tattva decided to look upon us, and They were looking most beautiful with flower outfits. ( first time in Mayapur, Panca-tattva are wearing flower outfit & this increased our excitement). Many devotees stayed up all night to make these beautiful outfits for the Lord. And, befitting the occasion Srimati Radharani and the Asta Saki’s are wearing Blue, And Lord Madhava is wearing a yellow dhoti with a Blue border.

Amongst the Senior devotees we have here are Umapati Maharaj, Hanumat Presak Maharaj, Bhakti Vigna Vinasa Nrsimha Maharaj, Bhakti Vasudev Maharaj, Bhakti Brhat Bhagavat Maharaj, and Bhakti Vidyapurna Maharaj. Sri Mayapur Dham ki Jai.

The morning class was given by one of our very precious senior devotees, HG Jananivas Prabhu. We read the Nityananda Pranam mantra,

Nityanandam aham Naumi

Avadhuta siromanim

Prabhu mentioned that Gaura Nitai don’t see our offences, they only see our attempts at Krsna Bhakti. And that Gaura Nitai’s name is such that if we chant Caitanya Nitai, (WE DID VERY LOUDLY) the Maha Mantra comes looking for us. Prabhu spoke about Jagai and Madai. And then said that Haridas Thakur Prabhu complained to Advaita Acharya Prabhu that he is disturbed by Nityananda Prabhu’s Avadhuta nature. And Advaita Acharya Prabhu replied “it not surprising, a drunkard will associate with drunkards”. Then Jananivas Prabhu mentioned how Nityananda Prabhu expands Himself into Navadvip Dham.

After this ecstatic extended class, there was sweet Bhajans, while the devotees prepared the paraphernalia for THE ABISHEK.During the Abishek our wonderful Gurukul devotees chanted mantras, while there was a rocking Bhajan going on. At one stage Nitai’s brass coloured form, turned white with the yogurt and milk. This white was washed off, back to brass, then bright red and then bright green. Then flower petals were showered onto our Nitai Gosai. Soon after He left for the main alter, and all those flower petals were thrown onto us and we felt like children happily running around in a garden.

The devotees then had the opportunity to put their heads on Nityananda Prabhus shoes. After the Arthi, came the time for transcendental kitchery and Maha Prasad. So many devotees were just so happy, and taking Prasad in their hands, eating it, coming back for more. And more. And more. During the morning class Jananivas Prabhu mentioned how Nityananda Prabhu has an Adhara Sakti, which means HE has the potency to accommodate, sustain, and nourish. This potency was clearly visible when we saw how the Prasad was not getting finished, even though there were so many devotees, taking more and more.
