Hundreds of devotees from all over the world, amongst them were HH Chandra Mauli Swami , MahaVisnu Swami and several Senior devotees, gathered on Saturday, 7th of March in front of Sri Sri Radha Madhava’s Chandradoya temple at 4 pm, well equipped with towels and sun hats, to celebrate together the “Gangapuja”. They all carried an earthen water pot to collect Gangawater for the bathing ceremony on Gaura purnima. A traditional Indian music band headed the procession, followed by Sri Sri Gaura Nitai deities, Sastra Prabhu’s joyful Harinama party and the heavy palanquin with the small yet majestic deity of Jagatguru Srila Prabhupada’ under an pompous umbrella. Reaching the Ganga river the transcendental sound of the holy names increased for about two hours, while on ‘ISKCON’s ‘Vasanti Puspa’ boat a grand puja was going on, offered by HG Bhadra Charu prabhu reciting hundreds of mantras for the glorification of Mahaprabhu,

Mother Ganga, Sri Guruparampara and Srila Prabhupada. At sunset a grand arati was offered in all opulence with a huge camphor lamp and a mega gheelamp of 108 flames. An unending stream of devotees honored Gangamayi with their pranams,

taking their dips, danced with their water pots on their heads on her slippery grounds and others went on boats to get their pots filled. Crowning the arati there were firecrackers in the azure blue sky coming from the opposite side of the Ganges, making it an unforgettable event for the glorification of Mother Ganga in midst of the ISKCON Mega family….
