Maharaja was discharged from the hospital and He is now in Partha-sarathi Temple(Delhi). He goes to the hospital for physiotherapy treatment where doctors are instructing Maharaja about the various types of exercises in the morning and evening for his recovery. Maharaja told that by listening the Kirtan and Bhagavatam classes of the temple , he will be recovered very soon. Doctors have requested that no one come to visit Maharaja. As of now, visitors would not be beneficial for his recovery.

At this point we humbly request devotees not to come to visit Maharaja. We also humbly request that everyone continue kirtan and prayers for Maharaja’s recovery as this is what is most important for his quick recovery. We will continue to give updates as much as possible. Hare Krishna.

Today first time Guru Maharaja walked 50 metres by the support of walker. Doctors are instructing Maharaja about the exercises. Maharaja’sexercise timings are from 10to 11am and 4:30to 5:30pm Maharaja felt some pain while doing exercise but Doctors said that it’s a good sign as he it shows that he is fully conscious.

Maharaja is now moved to the normal ward but owing to his health conditions, visitors are not allowed to meet him. Also Maharaja asked the devotees to pray from wherever they are so that he will be recovered soon. Till now, neurological doctors were monitoring Maharaja but now onwards, he will be given exercises by Physiotherapy doctors. Now Maharaja is taking tablets for blood pressure and diabetes and on regular physiotherapy sessions.Doctors have decided to keep Maharaja in this hospital at least for 27th Jan, after that he may go to Kotakkal, Kerala where Pancakarma treatment will be done. Ayurvedic treatment will be done based on the doctor’s discharge summary. Doctors are confident that Maharaja’s leg will be o.k. by 15 days and by three months, he would regain in his hand movements. Maharaja did cycling today by hands and legs.

Every day Hayagriva prabhu brings Charanamrita for Maharaja from Vrindavan temple and Dev Hari prabhu and Umapati prabhu bring charanamrita from Delhi temple. Devotees of Vraja doing Govardhan Parikama everyday for Maharaja.

Devotees in Vrindava perform 24 hours Kirtan for Maharaja and Pooja and sacrifices are going on in Mayapur Temple for Maharaja.

Vrindavana Chandra Prabhu everyday reads Sridhar Swami’s Tika from Srimad Bhagavatam and Gaur Krishna Prabhu reads Ram Charita Manas for Maharaja.

Today Doctors have done CT Scan for Maharaja, because Maharaja was feeling little exhausted, but the report was normal. No further bleeding, blood pressure is also stable, everything is under control. Today first time Maharaja held water glass in his left hand. He can sit comfortably. His sitting time is also increasing. He feels relaxed. He is taking prasadam regularly and his diet also increased.

As a perfect soldier of Krishna, wherever he is, in whatever condition, he never misses to relish delivering the nectar of Srimad Bhagavatam to the devotees. He was supposed to deliver Srimad Bhagavat Katha at Ludhiana but somehow Krishna brought him to the hospital and wanted him to take rest for some time. But then also Maharaja is so enthusiastic with his preaching spirit that he started katha in the Hospital and the doctors and other assistants are taking the benefits of this nectar. Any obstacles by material nature in the form physical impediments cannot disturb the consciousness of a pure devotee of the Lord. We can realize it by this.

According to the doctors, Maharaj has already improved a lot and he doesn’t require any further treatment except some medication and physiotherapy. Today first time Maharajsat on chair for 2 hrs, rest of the day he was laid on the bad.

Today, four Sannyasis (H.H. Loknath Swami, H.H.Gopal Krishna Goswami, H.H.Radhanath Swami and H.H. Bhakti Purushottam Swami) came to the hospital to see Maharaj. Maharaj was very happy to see his God brothers and with great pleasure he said, “Oh my God Brothers have come to see me.”

In a joking way Loknath Swami said, “Maharaj, do you still remember Bhagavat ?”. Maharaj humbly replied “I can’t forget Bhagavat, even though Iloose my life”. Gopal Krishna Maharaj said , “In Delhi temple, devotees are praying for you everyday after Mangala Arati”.

Also Radhanath Swami kindly embraced Maharaj and both have exchanged their feelings. Bhakti Purushottam Maharaj said that as Jayapataka Swami heard this news, he instructed the devotees of Mayapur to perform “yajna and special puja”to Lord Nrismhadevfor Maharaja’s fast recovery.

Doctors said that Maharaj is kept in ICU to save him from number of visitors.We will inform you as soon as next update Please keep praying and chanting as by all your prayers Maharaj is improving fast.

Maharaj is improving day by day. As his left eye and leg were improved but still the hand is weak.Now Maharaj istaking tablets and injections. Doctors are giving Insulin to control the Sugar.

Today morning Maharaj was telling katha about Dasharath- Vashishtha conversasion, he was telling katha about Deliverence of Ahalya by Lord Ramachandra and about the Kevat (Boat man). H.G. Gaur Krishna Prabhu recited some verses from Ramayana.

As per the Doctors, tomorrow is the 7th day, and on this day there may be the chance of bleeding . So we request all the devotees to pray sincerely as it’s very important day.

As per the talk I had with Dr.Narsimha Narayana Prabhu, today Maharaja has improved significantly, as the Blood pressure is normal at 80 and higher B.P. range is 140 which is slightly above the normal which is 120.Sugar is also controlled.

In the morning Maharaja chanted 8 rounds and took breakfast. Today he took lunch prasadam by his own hand and also washed hands.He told the Doctor that He is very eager to say Krsna Katha and also telling Krsna Katha everyday to the Doctor. He alsodiscussed about the H.H.GAur Govind MAharaj when the doctor said that he is from Orissa and Maharaj described about him and incidences happened in 1996. So, this way Maharaj is fully conscious.

Also Doctor told that Maharaj will be shifted to normal room from ICU after 2 days .Twoneurologists are giving exercises to Maharaja.

Maharaja’s CT Scan report shows significant improvement compared to the CT Scan of Jalandhar and his left mouth is semi paralysed now.Maharaj told that because of the prayers of the devotees he was improving and he is thankful to all the devotees. Maharaj will take soup in the night and expressed his happiness to all the devotee doctors in Appollo hopsital who are taking care of him.

January 13 Update by H.H. Radha Ramana Maharaja

Radha Govinda Maharaja has shown noticeable improvement today. His speech although still slightly slurred, is much improved, his eyes are brighter and he is showing signs of movements in his fingers and toes on his left side. The results of the CT scan are also positive indicating the fluid/swelling in the hemorrhage area has decreased. There are also slight improvements in his Blood Pressure readings.

On January 8th, Maharaja was traveling from Vrindavana to Jalandhar for a Bhagavat Katha program in Ludhiana. From the Jalandhar train station, he went to one devotee’s house and then to the local ISKCON temple. When Maharaja got out of the car, he felt numbness in his left leg but he somehow managed to take darshan of the deities. After taking darshan, Maharaja returned to the devotee’s home, took prasad and went to take rest. He was taking rest for approximately twenty to thirty minutes when a devotee heard Maharaja making some noise. Upon entering the room, the devotees found that Maharaja had collapsed (this was around 12pm).

The devotees immediately rushed Maharaja to Jalandhar hospital where the doctor diagnosed that Maharaja had had a brain hemorrhage. As a result of the brain hemorrhage, the left side of his body was paralyzed and his speech became slurred. The doctors treated Maharaja according to the hospital’s capacity before deciding to transfer Maharaja to Apollo hospital in New Delhi, the best hospital in the area. Maharaja reached Apollo hospital on January 10th at approximately 12pm. Maharaja is currently being treated in the ICU at Apollo hospital.

Maharaja is still in critical condition therefore the doctors have requested that no one come to visit Maharaj. As of now, visitors would not be beneficial for his recovery.

The doctors diagnosed that the paralysis on the left side of the body was caused by the brain hemorrhage. On a positive note, the hemorrhage did not occur in a central part of the brain, therefore Maharaja did not lose consciousness and he can recognize people. High blood pressure caused the brain hemorrhage.

Doctors are currently trying to lower and stabilize Maharaj’s blood pressure; it is still high.

At this point we humbly request that no one come to the hospital to see Maharaj. We also humbly request that everyone continue kirtan and prayers for Maharaj’s recovery, this is very important. We will continue to give updates as much as possible. Hare Krishna.

On 8th of January H.H.Radha-Govinda Maharaja reached Jalander (Punjab. INDIA) his Katha was scheduled at Ludhiyana, but before reaching there, he went to see devotees at Jalander. He reached their at 8:30am, their while he was receiving at temple he slightly fell on the ground, he & devotee thought that due to journey & tiredness it may be happened, then at 10am he took prasadm & then he went take little rest, while sleeping once again he fell down & he went on little unconsciousness, so devotees took him to the hospital, their he was found it was a slight bleeding in the brine & left side of the body was paralyzed, so after the treatment he was started responding & the bleeding was stopped doctor announced that he is out of danger.

Maharaja was kept in the same hospital 2 days, on 9th he took little prasadm two times, evening he started chanting on his beads, the voice is not clear yet, also left hand & left legs is not working properly. Now this morning 10th Jan at 1pm he was brought to New Delhi where he is now admitted in Appolo Hospital. After few testings doctors said that he is recoverable, provided he needs good medical treatments & important is resting which his body’s demand.

Today, 10th of January 2009, as I was going to the Bhaktivedanta hospital in Bombay with HH Gopal Krsna Goswami, leaving JUHU temple at 6:20pm. On the way, after driving to Mira Road, I asked Maharaja about HH Radha Govinda Swami’s condition and how dangerous it was. His reply was, “don’t worry his case is much less dangerous than that of HH JPS, then after few minutes HH GKG called his disciple doctor HG Dwarkadish prabhu who works at the Apollo hospital where Radha Govinda Maharaja was shifted to in New Delhi. Dwarkadish prabhu who is taking care as per his guru’s request informed that HH RGS is much better as he had only a minor stroke with bleeding in a non sensitive area and that he is conscious now. He still has partial paralysis on his left side but that in very few weeks he may be discharged by Krsna’s mercy. HH Gopal Krsna Goswami asked Dwarkadish prabhu if Radha Govinda Swami can talk on the phone and the surprise was that yes he can speak little bit and we could hear Maharaja talking to him which gave us the needed relief as we all are still very shocked with the heavy and dangerous stroke that happened with our Gurumaharaja HH Jayapataka Swami and that now is happening in a smaller level to this great vaishnava and first class exponent of the Srimad Bhagavatam as His Holiness is known in ISKCON. It is amazing to see how in this very short period of time many great servants of Srila Prabhupada are getting sick, since now adays we need them more then ever to always lead our society and increase the preaching of lord Caitanya’s instructions and mission. We pray for the recovery of HH Radha Govinda Swami maharaja and may Krsna have him again with us preaching in the best way as he does.

11 Jan

Maharaja is still in ICU. Maharaja’s younger brother HH Radhanilmani das Goswami Maharaja is with him. Doctors are constantly monitoring him. We request devotees to pray sincerely. Today Nrsimha Yajna will be performed in Mayapur in front of Sri Nrsimhadeva altar in the evening for the speedy recovery of HH Radha Govinda Maharaja.

10th Jan

Today at 1pm, Maharaja was admitted in Apollo hospital, Delhi. Bleeding has stopped. Doctors are confident of his recovery. Devotees are requested to continue their prayers.

9th Jan

This is to inform all that H.H. Radha Govinda Maharaja had a paralytic attack and bleeding in the brain (yesterday, 8th Jan, 2009 afternoon) Maharaja is currently in ICU in Tagore Hospital - Jalandhar and under 48 hrs Observation. As of today afternoon (9th Jan, 2009), Maharaja is improving and hopefully will be shifted to Apollo hospital in Mumbai by tomorrow. Dr.Amit of Apollo hospital noted that shortly Maharaja will be back to normal.

We request all the devotees to continue their prayers sincerely for speedy recovery of Maharaja. Radha Govinda Maharaja is world renowned for his wonderful Srimad Bhagavatam recitation and was conducting a bhagavata saptaha. Maharaja’s disciple Gaura Krsna Dasa Brahmacari is giving Srimad Bhagavatam Katha Saptaha in Mayapur. As we received the news in Mayapur, Sri Nrsimha prayers were recited after the katha and pujas are being performed to Sri Nrsimhadeva for speedy recovery of Maharaja.
